This Fabrication Manual has been designed to supply specific information on all relevant technical data and to explain techniques for the setting out, fabrication, and installation of Hanex® sheets.
Because there are many brands of solid surface material products on the market, which have their own individual characteristics, we must stress that all techniques described are recommended for use with Hanex® solid surface sheet and shape products. Any variation from these set down guide lines may inadvertently create unknown fabrication problems and may void the warranty.
This manual will enable architects and designers to evaluate the entire product range prior to final specification. In addition, the fabrication section of the manual has been set out to enable all fabricators to undertake a step-by-step process through the fabrication and installation functions.
Hanex® has numerous advantages over the majority of solid surface products sold in the world wide markets, the most important of which being that the composition of the sheet options is Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) resin filled with alumina trihydrate. This combination achieves great strength and toughness and is UV stable with a uniform density throughout the entire sheet range.
The use of the MMA resin system, combined with the high technology back up, give Hanex® the advantage of superior performance in the areas of thermoforming, UV resistance, lateral strength, and design freedom. This allows the designer a free rein to produce a finished product that can be cut in straight lines or curves, machined with profiled edges, routered, drilled, fabricated with color contrast inlay and sanded.
Hanex® is supplied with a very fine wet sanded surface on the face side.
Hanex® is a solid homogenous sheet product with the color or chip pattern consistent throughout the entire sheet range. Because acrylic resin is used, the product has a rich opalescent quality.
The result of this combination allows the product to withstand abuse such as scratching, cigarette burns, and stains which can usually be removed with abrasive household cleaners, fine sandpaper or Scotch-brite® pads.
Hanex® has been on the world market for many years and has gained wide acceptance in the residential and commercial markets. The complete range of colors and accessories are listed in this manual.
The information contained in this manual is provided as a guide for authorized fabricators of Hanex® products. The guide is also appropriate for use as an aid in its specification. No warranty, however expressed or implied, is given in relation to the procedures outlined.
All users of the guide should adhere to any recommendations given in the manual, particularly with regards to the health and safety elements. Before using Hanex® solid surface material products, fabricators should ensure that they are aware of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
